If, at the time of injury, there is a “popping” sound or sensation, this implies that you have a more serious muscle injury
If a muscle is completely torn, this requires surgery to repair and enhance muscle regeneration. Otherwise, a torn muscle can be managed with diligent self care.
Treatment Of A Muscle Tear
Once the muscle starts feeling better, you should stretch the muscle more extensively, yet very carefully, each day. Spend a lot of time warming the muscle up before attempting any exercise, take it easy, and spend time stretching and cooling down afterward.
A muscle tear, torn muscle or pulled muscle can take time to heal. Taking great care to assist healing now will actually shorten the time it takes to heal, rather than rushing it and re-injuring it. Muscle regeneration takes time and patience in order for complete recovery to take place.
Ice should be applied at the first sign of a tear; this helps to limit leakage of blood into the surrounding muscle tissue. Blood (released outside of the blood vessels) can be very irritating to muscle tissue and will greatly prolong recovery.
Use Systemic Enzyme Complex or Wobenzyme to speed up healing by cleaning up the injured area. They help remove clotted blood (bruising) that prevents the muscle from functioning properly, and will also relieve some pain.
Also use Anti-Inflammatory Formula to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation. This is a natural alternative to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, etc. and may assist with muscle regeneration.
After a few days, heat should then be placed on the muscle tear and the muscle should be very gently stretched. Keyword here is gentle!
In between icing and heating, you can very gently wrap the injured area with an ace bandage to provide some support and limit swelling. Don't wrap it too tight!
T-Relief is an awesome homeopathic ointment for healing up damaged, bruised tissues. You can rub it directly over the torn muscle.
Other items that are helpful include Phytoprofen for pain, and Ligament Restore for providing the nutrients that help repair connective tissues such as muscle, tendons and ligaments.
